When I first bought it I didn’t realise that it used DVD+ format disks, and all the DVD-R and DVD-RW disks I tried came up as “disk error”. Once my error was pointed out to me, it turns out to be a fine machine, with superb picture and audio quality. It plays recorded DVD- disks too, it just won’t record to them. I gather that the description has been amended to make this clearer to non-technical people like me.
Therefore I would unhesitatingly recommend this player. It offers excellent value for money.

This multi region DVD recorder is a disaster. I would not recommend this machine. Some DVD’s it will play and some it won’t. Some it will play after loading about 8 times other times it will play straight away and other times it won’t play at all saying Disc Error. I only bought this machine because of rave reviews for the DVD player but that is no longer available so I bought the recorder version. Big mistake. It is so complicated to wire up that I have not been able to use it to record. Only for the fact that it came from Sweden I would have sent it back. It is now in the bedroom as a standby and I have gone back to my old machine.
