Rating:
Despite reading some negative reviews on the reception capabilities of this unit, I decided to go ahead with the purchase (going to use house aerial anyway).
Plugged the house aerial into the unit and then continued to tune in the channels perfectly with very few problems.
Then tried it on the supplied portable aerials in my office, which resulted in very (very) poor reception. It’s not the fact the reception in the room is poor, as my little 3″ casio picks up the major channels, suggesting it must be the ‘August’.
I’ve yet to run a lead through for this tv, but judging by the upstairs reception, it should do the job I want. Also sounds a bit tinny, but I already knew that it would and it isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
It’s early days but overall, I believe it is going to be worth every penny. Just be prepared to spend a bit more on setting up a decent aerial.

Rating:
This August tv replaces my 10 year old 14 inch Sony CRT TV and I am so glad I did that. Very smart design, it is perfect size for my bedroom. The picture is brilliant, although the sound seems a little bit tiny for me when it is noise outside (I live close to the main street), but what can you expect more from such a small device.
It only picked up a few freeview channels and four on analogue using the small antenna supplied, but once connecting to my roof aerial, it easily picked up all the freeview channels and radio. It has built-in card reader and usb port, but I am mainly using the usb function to listen to the music downloaded from the internet.
I found the sleep and wake up function very useful, I like falling asleep while watching TV, I use the timer so that I can watch a show or movie while drifting off without shortening the life of the TV or worrying about my electricity bills. It can also be set up to turn on automatically or pop out a message to remind me the show I want to watch on a different channel.
The interactive teletext service is very useful as well, easily catch up with the latest news in the world, sports, or what will be on.
Overall, I am very pleased with this device and look forward to spending a lot of time with it.

I saw a review of this 9 inch tv on Sunday Times and thought this would be the ideal set to replace my 14 inch CRT in the kitchen. I was really pleased with my choice when I opened the box. The tv is in a shining black finish, very sleek and modern design, and it saved a lot of space for me in the kitchen.
The picture quality is unbelievably good for such a small unit. It can receive both analogue and freeview tv, but I only use the freeview function. It struggled to get the freeview channels using the small antenna supplied but no problem at all when connected to my house aerial.
The recording function is really amazing, you can record your favourite programme and watch it later on this set. I am going to buy an external hard drive so I can get more use of this function. The tv can also be used to show photos from the card reader and usb connection, it actually looked more like a photo frame when I first time saw it as it is so slim and compact and does not look like a traditional tv at all.
Overall, this is really a clever and brilliant device, very good value for money. And I look forward to spending a lot of time with it.

Nice little TV, I fitted it to the wall in our small kitchen. No signal from the supplied aerials, I had to connect it to an outside aerial. Now we have a great picture, with plenty of freeview channels.
Sound quality is not so good. OK for television but very ‘Tinny’ if listening to radio channels.
I purchased this TV because it can also be used to view digital photographs, which it does (though the picture quality is not as good as a dedicated digital photo frame), but there is no slideshow function – you have to change pictures using the remote. I am dissapointed with this, a small feature that would make this unit much better.
Finally, the menu structures & remote control operation are not the best.
So, it’s a good little TV for the money. Don’t expect too much from it.

I bought this after reading other reviews and can honestly say I am not disappointed at all. It is very easy to set up, I had have no problem with just using the small digital arial that was provided. You should know already if your reception is going to be good or not by other TV’s you have. It does exactly as it says, you can use to watch photo’s, the timer rec was so easy to use, records onto usb stick obviously, the TV needs to be switched on. The EPG guide works well. It looks great and I am so pleased I made the purchase, great for watching in bed etc. Sound a bit tinny but that is not a problem. You expect that from such a small TV if you use the headphones then sound perfect. Overall great value and so portable.
